MONAHANS – One Monahans home economics class is giving back in a big way. Kim Ashbrook’s class spends part of their academic year making clothes for a group of African children.
They make dresses for the girls and shorts for the boys – all out of pillowcases. The students bring their own supplies and the clothes are sent to Uganda.
“Each project takes 4-6 weeks to complete,” said Ashbrook. “We send close to 200 dresses and 200 pairs of shorts each year. This project is truly a blessing for all of us.”
This is their fourth year giving back through the project.
