UPDATE: Fugitive Escapes After Attempting To Run Over Deputy 12/28/12
UPDATE: 4:00 AM
The Martin County Sheriff's Department tells CBS 7 25-Year-Old Eric Ray Perez fled his residence on County Road 2036 when Deputies were attempting to serve a felony warrant around 10 P.M. last night.
Perez then jumped into a car and attempted to run over on the deputies. Several shots were fired into the car.
The pursuit continued westbound on Interstate 20 where law enforcement lost sight of his car.
The vehicle was later recovered on FM 1208 in Martin County.

CBS 7 has just confirmed that there was a high speed chase in Martin County earlier this evening. We are told by the Martin County Sheriff's Department that shots were fired and that the person being sought was a fugitive.
We have been able to confirm that the fugitive is still on the run.
