This week's Sunday’s Child is a dainty and sweet girl. Her life so far has not been a fairy tale, but her future could be...with your help.
11-year-old Bailey searches for the perfect item at the Painted Poppy in Odessa. She chooses a mug with a crown on the front. It’s a perfect fit for her personality. Her favorite colors are pink and purple.
As she starts painting, you can see she's pretty meticulous about her artistry. As we talk she reveals that someday she wants to be a pet groomer or a baby sitter.
"Cause I like animals and I’m nice to babies."
Bailey lives in a foster home with many other girls. She is very fond of her foster mother.
"She’s very kind and sweet. She lives in the country and I like the country to."
But now, she needs a forever home. One that offers the stability she needs to grow in confidence. But that's a big change.
“I might get scared. I might cry cause I won't see my mom."
After all she's been through, it's pretty clear, Bailey just wants to be important to someone.
“If I move in with my new family, if I got adopted, I might get to be their princess - their princess girl,"
She even has a vision for how that dream unfolds.
"I want purple curtains with fur. And Zebra. Maybe I’ll even get my own room."
