WEST ODESSA, TEXAS – The Housing Authority of the City of Odessa says they are at full capacity for their Section 8 Voucher Program and now have turn many eligible families away.
Alma Carr and her 2 children were one of many families who could not sign up for the program.
Carr lives in a small travel trailer with her 2 children, her sister-in-law and her 3 kids. The children sleep on the floor and the mothers share beds at night. There's no running water, heat and barely any functioning electricity.
The family is looking for a place to stay. They will be forced to leave the travel trailer this week.
Carr is disabled and moved to Odessa to be closer with her family. If anyone would like to help, call them at (817)258-1190.
