Midland Man Arrested For Killing Neighbor's 3-Year-Old Dog 10/5/12

MIDLAND COUNTY, TX – Midland County Deputies have arrested Stanley Atnipp today on charges of cruelty against a non-livestock animal.
Atnipp allegedly shot his neighbor’s 3-year-old boxer on Saturday when the dog entered his unfenced front yard.
Deputies say the pet was not a threat to Atnipp or his property.
The dog owner, Marv Esterly, says another resident was trying to retrieve the dogs after they escaped and entered into Atnipp’s front yard.
Atnipp also faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon when he threatened to shoot the neighbor who tried to help.
