San Angelo Central Alum Davis Martin to forgo senior year at Tech

LUBBOCK - Texas Tech pitcher Davis Martin will not return for his senior season.

The junior right-handed pitcher announced on Twitter he will sign with the Chicago White Sox organization after being drafted in the 14th round of the amateur draft in June.

Martin was 7-6 with a 4.78 ERA and a team-leading 81 strikeouts this season.

During his senior year at San Angelo Central. Martin held a .347 batting average, to go along with a 0.29 ERA and 116 strikeouts.

He's the sixth underclassmen to go pro this offseason joining Grant Little, Steven Gingery, Ryan Shetter, Ty Harpenau and Cody Farhat.
