Veterans Taking a Flight in Their Honor

By  |

MIDLAND It's a rare sight to see the Midland International Airport hustling and bustling before the sun comes up.

On Thursday hundreds of veterans and volunteers were up early to start a journey they will never forget.

Erene Sanchez is one such veteran who have never been to Washington DC to see the memorials built in honor of him and his fallen brothers.

In true military fashion, everyone was on the plane and ready to go 30 minutes ahead of schedule.

When theses men and women return they will bring with them memories that will last a lifetime.

Do you know someone who deserves recognition for impacting their community in a positive way?

Then let us know.

CBS 7 and Southwest 66 Credit Union want to recognize our Hometown Heroes.
