Student arrested after assaulting Odessa High School Assistant Principal

ODESSA -- A student has been arrested after assaulting an assistant principal at Odessa High School.

According to ECISD Public Information Officer Mike Adkins, two students were fighting at OHS when the assistant principal began trying to break it up.

As he tried, one of the students slammed him to the ground and kicked him.

The assistant principal, who has not been named, was taken to the hospital for treatment but has since been released.

The student involved has been charged and arrested for Aggravated Assault of a Public Servant, a Second Degree Felony. He was then taken into custody at the Ector County Youth Center.

The student has not been identified.
