Police: Man arrested after pointing AR-15 at victim's head during argument

ODESSA -- A 19-year-old Odessa man was arrested after police say he pointed an AR-15 at another person's head during an argument.

Kevin Hudnall, 19, has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a 2nd Degree Felony, Possession of Cocaine, a State Jail Felony, and two counts of Evading Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor.

According to the Odessa Police Department, their officers were dispatched to the area of Brittany Lane and French Avenue Wednesday evening for a report of a disturbance involving a firearm. As they made their way to the scene they were advised that a gunshot had been heard in the area.

When police arrived on scene they saw a man fleeing on foot. Officers were able to find him again 10 minutes later, but he continued to evade running into a home.

Officers followed the man inside and placed him into custody. The man, identified as Hudnall, was found to be in possession of cocaine.

While speaking with the complainant of the disturbance officers were told that Hudnall had threatened him with a rifle. Investigation of the scene revealed that after the two had gotten into an argument Hudnall went to grab an AR-15 rifle and pointed it at the complainant's head while screaming and cursing at him.

Police were also able to view surveillance footage, which showed Hudnall pointing a weapon at the complainant according to OPD. Based on the facts and circumstances at the scene Hudnall was charged and arrested accordingly.
