Three suspects identified after victim is shot in the head in Odessa

ODESSA -- Three suspects have been identified in an Odessa shooting that left one person injured.

Darius Patterson, Tye Kendrick, and Dezjuan Black have all been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Evading Arrest or Detention.

Darius Patterson, Tye Kendrick, and Dezjuan Black have have all been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a 2nd Degree Felony, and Evading Arrest or Detention, a Class A Misdemeanor.

According to the Odessa Police Department, a call for a gunshot victim came in around 2 p.m. near the area of 42nd Street and Wrangler Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene they found an 18-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the face.

The victim told police that he had met with three men to sell them marijuana. When an argument ensued about the price one of the three men reportedly pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the head.

The victim was taken to Medical Center Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers then responded to the area of Walnut and Melody Lane for a call of three subjects jumping fences.

The three subjects evaded police before eventually being caught and taken into custody. They were then identified as Patterson, Kendrick, and Black.

Further investigation revealed that Black was the suspect who had shot the victim in the head, police say.

All three suspects were then charged accordingly.
