OPD: Man steals from Albertsons then threatens employee when confronted

ODESSA -- According to Odessa Police, on January 10, they arrested a man in connect to a robbery at Albertsons.

Police say the 43-year-old Timothy Eugene Thomas concealed merchandise on his person and left the store without making an attempt to pay.

They add that an Albertsons employee confronted the Thomas about the merchandise and Thomas responded by saying, "Don't make me reach for my weapon."

Officers reviewed surveillance footage which confirmed the employee's statement.

The employee sustains bodily injury on his chest, a torn shirt and a broken necklace as a result of the incident.

Police then arrested Thomas and charged him with robbery which is a second degree felony.
