ELECTIONS Midland, Ector and Howard Counties

Constitutional Amendment Elections:

Prop 1-Increases Residential Homestead Exemption from Ad Valorum taxes for public school purposes from $15,000 to $25,000.

Prop 2- Authorizes the legislature to provide an exemption from Ad Valorum taxes for the surviving spouse of a totally disabled veteran who died before a law on the matter took place.

Prop 3- Repealing the requirement that elected state officials statewide live in Austin.

Prop 4- Authorizes the legislature to permit professional sports team charitable foundations to conduct charitable raffles.

Prop 5- Authorizes counties with a population of 7,500 or less to perform private road construction and maintenance.

Prop 6- Recognizes the right of the people to hunt, fish and harvest wildlife subject to laws that promote conservation.

Prop 7- Dedicates certain sales and use tax revenue and motor vehicle sales, use and rental tax to the state highway fund for non-tolled roads and the reduction of certain transportation debt.
