ODESSA -- Noel Elementary went into shelter-in-place for 15 minutes Friday morning after a student reported seeing a man with a gun in a truck leaving the area, according to ECISD.

Officials at the school then contacted ECISD police and decided to go into shelter-in-place as a precaution.

A search of the area around the school by ECISD police officers found noone matching the description, and the school resumed normal activities just after 10 a.m., ECISD reports.

ECISD thanked both the student who made the report and the school staff and police officers for their quick responses to the situation.
