KYLE (CBS Austin) -- A woman has been taken into custody after a 5-year-old girl was found dead in a Kyle home Thursday afternoon, CBS-affiliate CBS Austin reports.

The mother of a 5-year-old girl killed in Kyle on Thursday night has been charged with capital murder.

The suspect is identified as 24-year-old Krystle Villanueva.
According to the Hays County Sheriff's Office, at approximately 12:50 p.m., deputies responded to a 911 call of an aggravated assault at a home in the 200 block of Willow Terrace in the Green Pastures subdivision.

Deputies found a 58-year-old man with multiple stab wounds. He told the officers that a female resident of the house had stabbed him. Deputies also learned the woman's 5-year-old daughter had been injured during the assault, the sheriff's office says.

When the Hays County SWAT team entered the home they found the girl dead, investigators say.

Villanueva was taken into custody and the male victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released, the sheriff's office says.
