Midland police officer suspended for misusing police computer

MIDLAND -- A Midland Police officer is on suspension after he is accused of misusing his police computer.

According to an affidavit obtained by CBS 7 News, Demetrius Lee used his computer to run criminal histories and driver's license records for individuals that were outside his duties as a police officer.

Lee has been employed with the Midland Police Department since August 13, 2007 through the present.

He was placed on suspension August 8 and will resign on August 24.
