MMEX Resources building oil refinery in Fort Stockton

FORT STOCKTON -- Plans are in motion to build a crude oil refinery near Fort Stockton.

According to the company MMEX Resources, they're building a 450 million dollar refinery that will process 50 thousand barrels of oil a day.

The refinery is expected to be built 20 miles north east of the city and connect to existing railways and export diesel, gasoline and jet fuel to Mexico and South America.

The company says the 18-month construction process will create about 400 jobs in the area during peak construction.
