MIDLAND -- Juan Gomez spent his Saturday helping his community.
"Giving back, I work in Odessa and seeing all the damage that was caused by the storm," Juan Gomez said. "Just getting out there, helping the veterans, helping the elderly and any single moms that I've come across."
After this week’s storm, he sent out a message on Facebook to help people in his community pick up the destruction that was left behind.
Picking up trees and branches, with his mom and fiancée.
"Bonding with the community and being out there," reflected Gomez. "The help of my mom and fiancé, makes one feel good."
Even in today's heat, Juan was out from 8 to 2:30 giving back to the community."
“Public service always being a big part of how I was raised, always giving back to the community,” said Gomez.
Gomez says the Permian Basin has given him so much, and this is his way to give back, by paying it forward.
He'll be continuing to help people next week and encourages people in need to reach out to him on Facebook.
