Life-saving equipment purchased through donations

KERMIT -- The Kermit Fire Department recently purchased a brand new set of jaws of life.

After five years of fundraisers and donations, they were finally able to make the purchase.

The new equipment cost $26,000 and it's the second set for the department.

Kermit Fire Chief Jerry Wright says they are blessed to live and work in a community like Winkler County.

"The great thing about this department is the dedication these guys show every time they are dispatched. It is the same with the community always being there for us," Kermit Fire Chief Jerry Wright said.
