KERMIT -- Kermit High School Choir held their annual Salute to Veterans in the Community Friday morning.

This event is very important to Kermit High School as it honors the brave men and women who have served our country.

Under the direction of their teacher Vicki Pigmon, students worked hard knocking door to door, reaching out to businesses, and ranching families in the area asking for donations to benefit this cause.

In the end, it was apparent that their hard work and efforts payed off as they were able to raise a whopping $20,505.70.

They presented a check in that amount to Korean War Veteran and Honor Flight volunteer, Ralph Gillette.
