Four teens arrested in connection to string of convenience store robberies

ODESSA -- Four teens have been arrested in connection to a string of robberies across Odessa.

Aaron Llanez, 17, Edward Hernandez, 17, Alec Kirkland, 18, and Jesse Castillo, 17, have all been charged with three counts of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a 1st Degree Felony.

According to the Odessa Police Department, from December 20th to January 3rd their officers responded to three robberies at three different convenience stores.

-On December 20th, suspects robbed a clerk at the 7-Eleven at 801 Golder at gunpoint.

-On January 2nd, suspects robbed a clerk at the 7-Eleven at 8700 Andrews Highway at gunpoint.

-On January 3rd, suspects robbed a clerk at the Stripes at 8001 East Highway 191 at gunpoint.

Investigation of each scene identified the suspects as Llanez, Hernandez, Kirkland, and Castillo according to OPD. Investigators believed that all four teens worked together in robbing each of the convenience stores.

Warrants were then obtained for each of the teens, who were then charged.

According to OPD both Castillo and Kirkland are currently in custody in the Midland County Jail on unrelated charges.

Llanez and Hernandez were booked into the Ector County law Enforcement Center.

More felony charges are expected in the case for all four suspects, according to OPD.
