ECTOR COUNTY, Tx. (CBS7) - UPDATE:
Ector County Sheriff's Office says in a second release, Tommy Garza was arrested November 8th, not October 8th, just days before his death.
Furthermore, Scurry County Sheriff Trey Wilson confirms Garza was taken into custody on an evading arrest warrant. That indictment came down back on August 3rd.
An Ector County Inmate has died at the Medical Center Hospital Tuesday night.
The Ector County Sheriff’s Office say 27-year-old Tommy Garza Jr. was found unresponsive in his cell Tuesday at 7:20 p.m then transported to the hospital where he died.
They say his body has been sent to Tarrant County for an autopsy and the Texas Rangers are investigating as is protocol.
ECSO says Garza was arrested on October 8th for outstanding warrants out of Scurry County
