Ector County District Clerk's Office hosting Passport Fair

ECTOR COUNTY -- In need of a passport? Ector County has just the answer.

The District Clerk's Office will be hosting the county's first Passport Fair on Saturday, March 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ector County Courthouse.

According to a release, the fair will feature additional staff and multiple checkpoints and booths to speed up the process and eliminate long delays.

Anyone interested is asked to schedule appointments online here or call the District Clerk's office at (432) 498-4290 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Walk-ins will be seen only after appointments.

Applicants are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment to avoid losing the appointment.

Photo services will begin on March 15 and will also be available at the fair. Passport photographs cost $10.

To apply for a passport you will need:

Evidence of U.S. Citizenship
-Certified U.S. Birth Certificate
-Previous U.S. Passport
-Consular report of birth abroad
-Certificate of Naturalization/Citizenship

Photo Identification
-Valid Driver's License (plus a second ID if issued in a different state)
-Undamaged U.S. Passport (if issued less than 15 years ago)
-Certificate of Naturalization
-Valid Government or military ID

Children
-Under 16 years old - All the above plus evidence of a parental relationship.
-Both parents must be present with photo ID or one parent with a signed, notarized DS-3053 or a signed DS-5525 depending on the circumstances.
-16-17 years old - One parent must be present with photo ID

Books for adults 16 & older will cost a total of $110 to the U.S. Department of State and $25 to the District Clerk's Office.

Books for children under 16 will cost a total of $80 to the U.S. Department of State and $25 to the District Clerk's Office.

Cards for adults 16 & older will cost a total of $30 to the U.S. Department of State and $25 to the District Clerk's Office.

Cards for children under 16 will cost a total of $15 to the U.S. Department of State and $25 to the District Clerk's Office.

A book and card for adults 16 & older will cost a total of $140 to the U.S. Department of State and $25 to the District Clerk's Office.

A book and card for children under 16 will cost a total of $95 to the U.S. Department of State and $25 to the District Clerk's Office.
