Arrests made in connection to deadly Odessa carjacking

ODESSA -- Two arrests have been made in connection to the murder of a man in Odessa.

Michael Silvas and Johnny Aguirre.

Michael Silvas and Johnny Aguirre are both charged with Capital Murder.

According to the Odessa Police Department, Silvas was found and taken into custody in Crane on Saturday morning.

Aguirre was found to already be in custody at the Ector County Law Enforcement Center for unrelated charges.

On February 1, officers with OPD responded to the 2200 block of Richmond Street for a call of a gunshot victim.

When police arrived on scene they found that 26-year-old Ryan Stebbins had been shot in the chest.

Stebbins was taken to the hospital where he passed away.

An investigation of the shooting revealed that Stebbins had been shot as a suspect was trying to steal his truck.

CBS 7 spoke with a witness who saw the deadly carjacking outside of her window.
