Sheriff's office continuing to investigate fatal west Odessa shooting

West Odessa -- Thursday 4:35 p.m. Update: A woman who was sought for questioning in connection to a deadly shooting has contacted authorities.

According to the Ector County Sheriff's Office Aurora Maria Mancha, 34, called and spoke with investigators Thursday. She is no longer wanted for questioning as of Thursday afternoon.

The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.

Thursday 10:30 a.m. Update: The Ector County Sheriff's Office is searching for a woman in connection to the murder of Jenaro Arrendondo Saucedo.

Aurora Maria Mancha, 34, is wanted for questioning in connection to the shooting.

UPDATE: The suspect and victim of a late night shooting in west Odessa have been identified.

According to the Ector County Sheriff's Office, Leonardo Santos Lopez-Mazariegos, 36, has been charged with Murder, a 1st Degree Felony.

The victim in the shooting has been identified as Jenaro Arrendondo Saucedo, 36.

According to ECSO, their deputies responded to the area of 802 South Moss Tuesday night for a call of a disturbance with shots fired.

When deputies arrived on the scene they found the body of Saucedo, who had a gunshot wound to the face. Saucedo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses on scene identified the shooter as Lopez-Mazariegos, who was then charged with Murder.

The body of Saucedo will be sent to the Tarrant County Medical Examiners office for an autopsy, according to ECSO. The investigaiton into the shooting is ongoing.

The bond for Lopez-Mazariegos has been set at $500,000.

UPDATE: At 8:35 p.m. Ector Co. Sheriff's office received calls of shots fired on Moss and Teepee.

According to Sheriff Mike Griffis, when deputies arrived on scene they found a 36-year-old dead and arrested a suspect.

The motive is unclear right now.

The investigation is still on going.

The Ector County Sheriff’s office is investigating a scene at Teepee and Moss in west Odessa.

Viewers tell us there is crime scene tape up and a heavy sheriff’s department presence.

According to witnesses, they heard gun shots but that has not been confirmed by the sheriff’s department.

CBS 7 spoke with Sheriff Mike Griffis, he said deputies are still on scene and he will have more information soon.
