Record Highs Possible Thursday

Showers and thunderstorms possible this weekend. Thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and early evening, mostly west and south of the Pecos River.
An upper low over the West Coast will move on shore Thursday and becomes connected with a broader upper trough over the Pacific Northwest. Upper ridging remains over West Texas, which will result in record high temperatures for much of the area with many places experiencing triple digit highs. The chance of showers and thunderstorms will increase as we get to the end of the work week through the weekend. Temperatures will also start to decrease some as we get into the weekend.
