Record Highs Possible This Week

Chances of rain will be possible later this week. An upper low is over the southeast part of the country, and another upper low is just off the coast of California. Upper ridging is over the southwest part of the U.S. Temperatures will continue to warm today with highs mostly in the 90's. An isolated thunderstorm is possible in the Davis Mountains and northern Lea County.
Temperatures will continue the heating trend into Wednesday and Thursday, with Thursday being the hottest day this week. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms in the higher terrain Wednesday afternoon. Relief from the hot conditions this weekend as the chance of rain increases and temperatures drop back to near 90.
