One person dead, two injured after rollover crash in Odessa

ODESSA-- One person is dead and two others injured after a rollover crash on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Odessa Police Department they say an investigation revealed a blue 2012 Dodge truck being driven by Lucas Martinez, 18, was driving East bound in the outside lane of the 4000 block of West Highway 80.

A white 2015 Kia Sedona, being driven by Janet Houston, 58, was also traveling East bound when Martinez made an unsafe lane change and hit Houston’s car causing it to spin into the median and roll several times.

A passenger riding in the Kia, Vanessa Long, 47, was ejected from the car and taken to Medical Center Hospital and later pronounced dead.

Houston and the front right passenger of the Kia, Doris Boiles 57, were also taken to Medical Center Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to MCH, Houston has now been released. Boiles remains at the hospital in stable condition.

The investigation is still ongoing.
