Officers in Hobbs respond to call for shots fired

HOBBS-- Officers in Hobbs responded to a call for shots fired on Saturday morning in at about 5:58a.m.

According to the police department they say that several calls of shots fired were reported in the area of East Snyder and Morris Street.

When officers arrived on scene they found a juvenile boy with a single gunshot wound and grazing wound laying on the side walk.

Witnesses said a vehicle had done a "drive by" and left the area.

Police later arrested Diego Condarco for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and shooting from a motor vehicle.

He was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance, that being cocaine and marijuana.

The victim was taken to Lea Regional Medical Center and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is still on going.
