A cold front will move through West Texas early on Saturday morning bringing a gusty northwest to north wind and some milder and below normal temperatures to the Armed Forces day weekend. It looks like most of the Gulf of Mexico moisture will remain off to the east so thunderstorms will not accompany the front as it moves through. All of that changes on Sunday as the cold front will stall over the mountains of West Texas and be aided added low level moisture and an upper level disturbance to develop some thunderstorms by Sunday afternoon. These storms will start in the mountains then move off to the northeast into the Trans-Pecos and Permian Basin. The threat is there for some heavy rain and an isolated severe thunderstorm so stay up to date right here for the latest weather information.
