Makensie Hinkle is thrilled to be apart of the CBS 7 News Team. Originally from Beaumont, TX she's excited to experience all that West Texas has to offer.

Makensie Hinkle is thrilled to be apart of the CBS 7 News Team. Originally from Beaumont, TX she's excited to experience all that West Texas has to offer.

Makensie graduated from Texas State University in 2015 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She was a member of the World Famous Texas State University Strutters dance team where she performed in numerous events throughout the United States and a performance abroad in London.

Throughout college Makensie worked as a sports reporter for the school radio and ESPN 860 in San Antonio. She assisted in producing the San Antonio Spurs and San Antonio Missions games.

She then moved to Dallas where she worked for the Cumulus Media Group, learning from sports broadcasters on ESPN 103.3 and the popular 1310 The Ticket. She helped work events such as the Byron Nelson Invitational, Dean and Deluca Invitational, NCAA Women's Basketball National Championship. She was also apart of the Dallas Stars Hockey Marketing team.

In March of 2015, she accepted a position with IHeartMedia as a traffic anchor. She recorded traffic reports for stations all over the world as well as radio advertisements.

Makensie was invited to work for ESPN in the Events department. She assisted in the planning and execution on two DFW Bowl games, The Heart of Dallas Bowl and The Armed Forces Bowl.

Makensie is a huge Dallas sports fan. In her spare time she enjoys watching the Cowboys and Rangers, being outside, pool days, hunting, fishing and visiting her family back home.
