No stranger to West Texas news, she has been reporting in the Permian Basin since June of 2013.

Alexa Dunson joined the CBS 7 News team in February of 2016 as the 4:30 p.m. weekday anchor. Two years later, Alexa was named the new host of Studio 7, a lifestyle show that focuses on improving quality of life in West Texas.

Alexa graduated from Angelo State University in June of 2013 with a degree in Communications, though her love for volleyball is what originally brought her to West Texas. While studying at Angelo State, Alexa was a member of the University’s volleyball team. She also interned for local news station KSAN where she did everything from producing to assisting with sideline reporting during the football season.

Alexa grew up in San Antonio but West Texas has captured her heart. In June of 2015 she married Odessa native, Wayne Dunson. Two years later the couple welcomed their first child, Carter. The Dunson’s also have a four-legged daughter, a chiweenie, named Dixie!

When she’s not on set, Alexa enjoys giving back to her community. She’s a proud member of the Junior League of Odessa and Young Professionals of Odessa.

Alexa is an award winning reporter and is excited to be a part of the number one news team in West Texas!
