DeAnn Lopez joined the CBS 7 News team as a Multimedia Journalist/Reporter in July of 2013.

With no hesitation DeAnn loaded her car with a few belongings and made the long drive from Southern California to West Texas!

DeAnn graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Communication with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism.

During her time in college, she focused on anchoring and reporting for her schools TV station, which aired weekly on Time Warner Cable.

DeAnn interned in several successful television newsrooms during her college years such as, KNBC-TV, CBS2/KCAL9 and PBS SoCal.

Her experience taught her better news judgment, how to write for broadcast and techniques including how to ask questions as well as how to write newsworthy stories.

DeAnn is a skilled communicator who has the drive and dedication in reporting stories that make a difference in people’s lives.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering, hiking, playing basketball, meeting new people, traveling, speaking in different accents and loves to karaoke for fun (She's no professional ha)!
